Running returns on Easter Monday in the North East

Run Nation is pleased to be able to stage the North East's first live running event of 2021 at Dalton Park in County Durham.

Runners will be taking part in 5k and 10k races as well as a 2k event for children.

The event is following Covid safe protocol and runners are set off in waves every few minutes. Other strict measures in place will also make runners safe and enjoy a return to running in a race environment.

"Running outdoors can be very safe and our events have been organised following Run Britain and Government guidelines for returning to events during Covid-19" states organiser, Richard Hunter (founder of Run Nation)

"We have a huge community of runners who have been running alone or taking part in virtual runs for the past 12 months, but running in events is normal and people want to feel some normality again. We can offer this and hope to see a gradual increase in numbers whilst keeping things under control." Hunter adds.

Having delivered a number of events safely and with great feedback in August and December 2020, Run Nation has a number of other exciting events coming up in May and June. Look out for the Kirkharle Capability Brown 10k and the Alnwick Castle Trail 10k - both of these events are in May and will be held with strict Covid measures in place to allow runners to take part in a safe event.

Run Nation has a large range of races from 2k to half marathon, all Covid measures will be in place to keep the runners safe from social distancing, contactless number collection, PPE for marshals, one way systems and staggered starts in small socially distanced groups.
