Richard Hunter

Founder and Managing Director

Richard has lived and breathed athletics since he was 13 years old – competed internationally in the sprint hurdles and then moved to the decathlon. Graduating from Brunel University with a BSc in Sport Science, a PGCE in Physical Education and a MSc in Sports Management. He is a Level 3 Performance Coach and former coach education senior tutor at UK Athletics and regional manager for England Athletics until 2009. Richard started Run Nation in 2011, organising the first event at Wallington Hall in Northumberland. Since then he has overseen the development of Run Nation into a national brand.

Tom Andrews

Event & Timing Manager

A University of Cumbria graduate with a BSc in Sports Development & Coaching, Tom has competed in Athletics since the age of 13 before moving into coaching Sprints & Mini Athletics for the past 7 years. With a keen interest in events, Tom joined Run Nation as a marshal before moving on to timing and event management and finally joining us full time in 2018. Tom now handles all things events & timing, offering our servies to external customers, clubs and schools.

A Northumbria University student, Joshua is studying BSc. Sports Management due to graduate in 2020. His Run Nation journey started in 2019 on placement with us helping the team and gaining valauable experiance. In 2020 he joined us on a part-time basis as an events assistant.

Craig Mordey

Event Crew

A valued member of the team, Craig has been with Run Nation from the start. An event regular in the lead vehicle, Craig knows the Run Nation courses inside and out, if you see him at our events, he loves a cup of tea!
