We were really disappointed that we were forced to cancel the Hexham 10k event due to flooding and unsafe conditions on the ground. The decision was not taken lightly and the event incurred costs despite the cancelation of the event.
We have considered the various options for re-scheduling the race in December or January, but we were unable to come up with a suitable date for a race.
For this reason, we are offering all entrants of the 2023 race an automatic transfer to the 2024 event (which will be on a new midweek (sundowner) summer date of Wednesday 17th July 2024 at 7.30pm). We believe this gives us a better chance to organise an event in warmer/dryer conditions as we are reliant on the finish area on Tyne Green not suffering from heavy rainfall.
The evening sundowner event in July will be supported by live music, street food and we plan to organise an evening running event that caters for friends and family!
