Thank you and well done to all the runners who attended the Run Northumberland Coquet 5k, 10k and Half Marathon 2019 on the 30thJune and thank you to all the marshals and staff who help to make the event run as smoothly as possible.
At 9:15am 93 runners started the Half Marathon. Andrew Hebden (Morpeth harriers & AC) was the first finisher with a gun time of 1:23:40. Alasdair Macmillan finished second in 1:24:22 with third place going to Roland Brown (Ponteland Runners) with a time of 1:30:53.
The fastest female was Hannah Wood (Low Fell RC) who finished 5thoverall with a time of 1:31:47. Jean Latham finished as the second fastest female in 1:44:24 with Sarah Hamblin the third quickest female to complete the Half Marathon with a time of 1:46:58.
The 10k race with 96 competitors started at 9:30am. Rhys Durrant (North Shields Polytechnic Club) completed the 10k in a winning time of 39:52. Steve Jones finished in second with a gun time of 43:11. Steven Macdonald (Newcastle Frontrunners) crossed the finish line in a time of 45:07.
Carole Page (Alnwick Harriers) finished as the fastest female and forth overall in a time of 45:09. Fiona Sim finished as the second fastest female and eighth overall in a time of 46:47. Kate Lowe (Tynedale Harriers & AC) finished as the third fastest female and ninth overall finisher with a gun time of 47:10.
With the later start time of 11:30am the 15 5k runners set off. Bertie Marr (Morpeth Harriers & AC) completed the 5k in 18:34. Marcus laws (Tynedale Harriers & AC) finished in 19:32 closely followed by Steven French (Blyth RC) in a time of 19:44.
Julie Sharrocks finished as the fastest female in 26:12. Alison French (Blyth RC) finished the 5k as the second fastest female in 27:09 and Wendy Robson crossed the line in 34:14 as the third fastest female.
