A Wet and Windy Castles Half Marathon!

We would like to say a Huge well done to all of you amazing runners who took part in our Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon last Sunday. A combination of over 400 entrants fought tooth and nail against storm Ashley, pulled through and finished the race on the day against the historic backdrop of Bamburgh Castle

The course took runners on a scenic loop of the village of Bamburgh down the Northumberland coastline towards North Sunderland and Seahouses back to the finish on Ingram Lane, not far from the Victoria Hotel. Our participants had a clear route on closed roads but were still made to work for their medals. A relatively undulating course against some wet and windy weather conditions meant for a tough finish. So once again a huge congratulations to all that finished, it is a massive achievement!!

We would also like to once again say a huge thank you to all of our organisers and volunteers whose hard work and dedication in the terrible conditions made the event possible and ensures that every participant can experience the thrill of a race day in a safe and secure environment!!
