Run Northumberland Half Marathon & 20 Miler Route Information

Run Nation is proud to present the Run Northumberland Half Marathon & 20 Miler taking place on Sunday 15th March 2020. As part of our on-going commitment to ensuring the safety of runners as well as the general public, as per requirements as set by Northumberland County Council, we have obtained an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 from Northumberland County Council to have road closures for the event. We have also liased with Newcastle & Gateshead council's in order to establish sections of our route in Tyne Riverside Country Park

The Order is to be effective on the 15th March 2020.

Schedule of Highway Closures:

  • C254 West Road, Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed from  09:00 to 11:00 hours.
  • C254 Ovington to Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed from 09:00 to 11:00 hours
  • C253 Bywell to Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 hours to 11:00 hours
  • B6309 Bywell to High Barns Junction for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 11:00 hours
  • C254 Hillcrest, Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 11:00 hours
  • C254 Main Road, Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 11:00 hours
  • C254 Castle View, Ovingham for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 11:00 hours 
  • C254 Main Road, Wylam for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 12:00 hours 
  • U8234 Falcon Terrace, Wylam for their entire lengths will be closed 09:00 to 12:00 hours

Run Nation would like to thank the residents and businesses of Ovingham, Prudhoe, Wylam, Bywell and the surrounding areas for your support and understanding of the necessity of the disruption.

The management of the road closures will be carried out by Total Resources along with Run Nation, who will endeavour to re-open the roads at the earliest opportunity. Access of course will be in place for emergency services throughout the race.
