On Sunday 20th October, the Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon will once again be returning to the village of Bamburgh. As part of our on-going commitment to ensuring the safety of runners as well as the general public, under new requirements as set by Northumberland County Council, we have obtained an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 from Northumberland County Council to have road closures for the entire route of the Half Marathon.
The Order is to be effective on the 20th October 2019.
Schedule of Highway Closures:
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 10:20am
B1340 Links Road, Bamburgh
Front Street, Bamburgh
Lucker Road, Bamburgh
B1340 Adderstone Hall to Lucker Road – from Lucker Road to its junction with the C63.
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 10:45am
C63 Newham Hall Junction to Bradford Kaims Junction
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 11:00am
C65 Rayheugh Junction to North Sunderland Junction – from its junction with the C63 to its junction with the C66
C66 West Fleetham to Newham Hall Junction
C66, C68 West Fleetham
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 11:25am
C68 West Fleetham to Main Street – from its junction with the C66 to its junction with the C389
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 12:10pm
C68 West Fleetham to Main Street – from its junction with the C389 to Main Street
Main Street, North Sunderland – to its junction with Broad Road
C65 Broad Road
C65 Rayheugh Junction to North Sunderland Junction – to its junction with the U2009.
The following roads will be closed from 09:25am – 13:00pm
U2009 Elford Junction to Budle Bay Junction – to its junction with the U2017
U207 Burton Lane Farm Junction to Shoreston Junction
C64 Ingram Lane
C64 Ingram Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary in the interests of public safety to enable the Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2019 to take place.

The management of the road closures will be carried out by Total Resources along with Run Nation, who will endeavour to re-open the roads at the earliest opportunity. Access of course will be in place for residents and emergency services throughout the race.
